The French packaging market rests on a dense network of regional carton converters, often very competitive on standard formats and responsive on short runs. The trap lies elsewhere: price per thousand means nothing until grammage, board grade, number of colours and minimum order quantity are fixed. Two quotes can differ by forty per cent on grammage alone.
On custom die-cuts, one contractual point decides your future freedom: ownership of the cutting die. If it is not written down, changing supplier means paying for tooling again. We always lock that point, along with compliance with the EU packaging regulation, which is tightening recyclability requirements — redesigning a pack two years later costs far more than designing it compliant now.
