Sourcing HVAC and energy equipment in Belgium

Three regions, three incentive schemes, one specification to write.

Belgium complicates the energy subject in a particular way: incentive schemes, performance obligations and procedures differ between Flanders, Wallonia and Brussels. Equipment eligible in one region is not necessarily eligible in another, and that is checked before the RFQ, not after the order.

On the supply side, Flanders concentrates distribution and import with a logic close to the Dutch market, while Wallonia retains French-speaking installers and integrators closer to French practice. Canvassing both in their own language is the only way to get a genuine basis for comparison.
